BPI: Strengthen supply of natural treatments
Germany was for many years a leader in the field of herbal medicine. The majority of the population wants more treatment with herbal medicines (natural treatments). Nevertheless, the manufacturers of herbal medicines faced the pressure of politics and the behavior of regulatory agencies with extreme difficulties. Now, a campaign group has found that wants to make it strong to secure a reliable supply of the population with effective herbal medicines. On the initiative of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry (BPI), representatives of the Society for Phytotherapy (GPhyt), the Committee for natural treatments (KFN) and the Federal Association of the drug manufacturers (. BAH) in Frankfurt / Main.
One objective of the Action Group is to strengthen the German pharmaceutical plant in their importance to health care. In particular, their removal from the reimbursement by the statutory health insurance has led to confusion among the population about the value of treatment with herbal medicines. On the other hand, the regulatory demands on Europe's approval.

Among the planned activities of the Action Group in addition to public awareness initiatives on the medical importance of natural tratments include supporting the teaching of natural medicine in medical schools.
